What's In It for Me?

Let's cut to the chase here. As of writing, when you sign up for EBATES using my link, you'll get a $10 bonus added to your account when you join, and spend your first $25. You're not spending $25 at EBATES but at your favorite online store. If you already shop online, there's no downside to using the service.

Cash Back on Your Purchases

About this time last year, I heard of a service called EBATES. Always interested in saving a buck, I decided to explore what they had to offer. Of course, I went into it with a good degree of skepticism. Would they really deliver the cash they promise? I have ADHD, how in the world am I going to remember to use them?

As soon as I signed up I found out they have an extension for Google Chrome and that it would remind me every time I was shopping at a store online that was part of their program. While they do offer cash back in the physical world, I must confess I tend to forget about checking the app.

I'm not sure how they make their money and while I'm sure *I* am their product, I've grown comfortable with the fact that in this day our information is out there. Do I really care that they know I bought a vacuum from Bed, Bath and Beyond the other day? No. Do I care they might be gathered in a conference room chuckling about how many times I've made purchases at GoDaddy? Nope. What I do care about is that as of this post I've received $93 of cash back and have another $18 set to be delivered in my next "Big Fat Check".

Getting Paid

To make things simple, I chose to have them deposit my cash back directly into my PayPal account. They also offer the option of having a check sent to you in the mail. More recently I've found out they will actually give you a bonus when you redeem your cash back for a gift card. My last payout I decided to have the money sent to a Petco gift card. So instead of $19 back, I got $23. Score!
